The features of our Froogle feed is as follows

Its 100% Live and Correct

At any time the feed is live, it automatically updates it self every time you view it. So when you have updated your products or category list, you don't have to even think about it, as your feed is updated. 

The attributes are as follows

Attributes is the name for the sections of code we add to Google Base, each part like Product, Title and Product Description, requires an attribute so Google knows what it is and what relation it has to the product.

Product Category

One of the biggest problems we had, was how to get Google to see what category the products were in, so we have used the category that the product is in, from your VirtueMart site. This means its all automated, and makes it extremely easy for Google to order and display your products in their results.

Limit the list of products

This allows people to watch for new products to be added to your website with almost any RSS reader

Amount of products to be displayed

Each Feed (except "All Products") can be limited to any number of products you require. So if you want only the last 5 Latest Products to be shown, you can set it to 5.

Controllable Expiry dates 

All RSS feeds reader software including Google, look for an expiry date of the information. This is so it can work out when the information is either going to be out of date, or when it should recheck it. Google refuse to accept the data, unless it has an expiry date of less than 31 dates from when it is uploaded to Google.

You can set the date in the admin panel, so it will always be the correct date as specified by Google. 

Easy Installation

All other Virtuemart Froogle producers we have found, are hacks rather than modules. So the hack actually works where you would change core code, or add in a completely separate PHP file.

Our system is a simple self installer module and component, which takes about 20 seconds to add into any 1.0.X Joomla system (we are working on Joomla 1.5 right now)

Not just limited to Google

Can be used with almost any other Product Comparison Site. Most Comparison and Ecommerce sites are using RSS feeds to update their information. But as we have added in attributes that are not needed by Google, such as Currency and feed creation dates, you have much more chance of making this work for all of them.

We will be updating this section of the site with a list of other systems you can use this feeder with when we have a chance to to do some research and testing.

Product condition

Google specifies that you must tell them if the product is New or Used. So we have added in the admin panel a way for you to do this, to keep Google happy.
