We are currently using v3, and have had some issues recently regarding the product descriptions. It appears that for some of the items (specifically the items that have multiple sizes/weights (child products)) do not include descriptions in the feed (although the parent product

How do we go about fixing this?

And since we purchased v3, do we get to upgrade to v4 for free, or is there a reduced rate to upgrade? We don't really have the need for the feed to be accessible from the frontend, but if the new version comes with a resolution for this issue or improves the display of the products on Google's site, we are open to migration.

UPDATE:

The child items do not have a description present, which is the cause for this issue apparently.

Is there any way to pull the parent description for each child item that does not have it's own individual description?

Hi there, sorry for the delay in replying
We are looking into fixing this child product problem now for V4, as it has only been brought to our attention for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

The full description text is exported completely with V4, and has a cut off point on V3 which we removed for V4. But it will only export what it finds with the specific product, and at the moment not relate it to any other product.

So when we get around to building it we have a great list of things to do.

V3 and V4 are completely different systems, they arnt even close at all. V3 is a component and module, V4 is a Mambot only. They don't share any code or any part of the scripts in any way.

What i should have done really, is rename the product to show it was completely different, but i thought it does the same kind of job, so ill just give it a new version number. With this in mind, and the thousands of pounds i have spent on developing this new Version 4, i cant give it away for free I'm afraid. But i can say that any buyers versions from 4.x and on will be free for ever. This is because the direction we went with version 4 was much better than 1,2, and 3 so have decided to stick with it.

We have to make it work with Joomla 1.5 and VM 1.1 yet, which is going to be fun

Since i notice you registered before Xmas, you must have received an email from me when V4 was released offering you a coupon discount for the V4, there are still some of them not used, so you should be able to use that to help discount the V4.
