thanks, i really appreciate your help.

in the meantime i have dug a little deeper and discovered that i don't have access to the php.ini file on my server and ionCube is not installed. I have emailed my webserver support team and asked them if they could install it for me.

one quick question though - if i create a php.ini file and put it inside my root directory can i direct the website to load the ionCube loaders? I have created a php.ini file in my root directory and it solved some csv upload problems i was having with another site i run, just wondering if it will work.

You don't need access to the php.ini file for the loaders, that's only if you want to add it into the php.ini file.

i have double, triple and quadruple checked my file structure, i have even copied the files into the system folder and still end up with this error every time

whats going wrong?

Are you using a Linux or windows server?

As the mambot comes with a windows loader installed as standard, and the instructions above are for the Linux server, so if your using something else, it will need the other ioncube loader to match that server.

Go to your joomla admin > System > System Info
and copy and paste the bit that says something like

Linux host.newworldhosting.co.uk 2.6.9-023stab046.2-enterprise #1 SMP Mon Dec 10 15:22:33 MSK 2007 i686

That should tell us what kind of server it is.
(its not a security issue for you to add it here, for a start off, nobody knows your website link)

i have had site5 go and add a custom php.ini file to the server for me and they say that its a fault with the code. i'll PM you with ftp and admin login details for our site.
